About Barry Beaux

GET TO KNOW ME.

Established in 2009, Barry Beaux was started by designer, Frances Ford Barry. She was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, SC and has always loved the Lowcountry style. Frances started Barry Beaux while studying Fashion Merchandising at Georgia Southern University. This "Carolina Girl" designs, cuts and sews all of her bow ties, ties, cummerbund sets, pocket squares suspenders and more!

The name Barry Beaux comes from Barry, her last name, and Beaux, meaning handsome in French as well as a play on words for "bow." The shrimp logo comes from the shrimp boat fleet in Shem Creek, a local creek in Mt. Pleasant, which is her main source of inspiration. Being a Lowcountry girl, she also grew up hunting, fishing, and eating oysters and boiled peanuts. She incorporates the things she knows best into her designs. Frances loves this area and is proud to say all their products are handmade in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina!

Barry Beaux specializes in designing custom fabrics for their customers. We love working with brides and grooms to make their wedding party stand out, incorporating business logos but also enjoy creating custom and personalized gifts for individual orders. Her love of textile design has fueled her to create more textile products included table linens and baby blankets.
Frances and her twin sister, Martha, have recently launched their new product line, Twin Shem. The line features fishing line jewelry with fun colors and Morse Code sayings.

We donate a portion of our proceeds to a different charity each month. We work with several charities by designing and selling custom ties for their events or fundraisers. If you would like to design a tie to raise money for your cause please contact us. We believe it is important to give back.
