About Your Alteration Shoppe
Your Alteration Shoppe offers clothing repairs and alterations. We have a team of talented seamstresses to accommodate most requests. From hemming pants and dresses to jean patches and repairing tears we got ya covered! Please bring your shoes for hemming requests. It is best to wash pants before hemming to account for shrinkage.
We’re part of the community. We have been servicing the community of Mt. Pleasant for more than 30 years. Now under new ownership. Frances Schelble, a Mt. Pleasant native, purchased the business over 3 years ago.
The team that cares. We have a talented team of seamstresses. We have seamstresses that specialize in suits, gowns, custom and unique requests, drapery, and repairs.
We are walk in Monday-Thursday 11-4. Fridays are reserved for fitting appointments from 9-2. Please call the shop at (843) 881-2716 to make your appointment. You don't need an appointment to pick up. We can only accept 80 new items a day. Once we take in 80 we will only be open for pick ups after that. It is a first come, first serve basis.

SERVICES
Repairs: Have ripped jeans or a broken zipper? Bring them in and we'll bring new life into your favorite garments!
Alterations: Bring your garment in and we will alter it to fit your body to your liking.
Custom: One of our talented seamstresses specializes in custom made work. Let us know what she can make for you!
Rush: Our turn around is about a month. If you need your garment(s) rushed there will be a $50 initial rush fee and $10 for each additional garment.

HOW WE WORK
Our customer walk-in hours are 11-4 Monday through Thursday. If you cannot make our customer hours please call the shop to make a Friday appointment. Appointments are available 9-2 on Fridays. (You don't need to make an appointment to pick up on Fridays just for fittings) We typically have a 2-4 week turnaround depending on what needs to be done but try to accommodate most rush orders. Once your order is completed we will text you for pick-up. Cash or Check only. Pay at time of pick-up.
FAQ
Why can't you quote how much the work will cost? -- Sometimes we can however, sometimes opening up garments to get to the inside seams for work can sometimes take much longer or be much more difficult than just looking at the garment. If this happens we will contact you before proceeding any further.
How can my alterations cost more than my dress? -- We do not know how much customers pay for their clothing. We price based off of the time we use to pin your garments and the time and difficulty of the alterations. Garment cost and sewing work and time unfortunately do not go hand in hand.
I see you are cash and check only. Can I pay at pick up? -- Yes, you can pay at time of pick up. We will text you when your order is ready with the total amount due.
Do you dry clean too? -- No, we are not a dry cleaners. We ask you that you please only drop off clean clothes for us to work on.
If I am not satisfied with the work can I bring my garment back? -- Yes, please bring your garment back right away and we will make it right for you! We do not except redos after 30 days from due date.
How long do you hold finished orders? -- We are not responsible for orders past due for 30 days.
I need something altered very quickly. What is your turnaround time? -- Typically we take 2-4 weeks. Depending on the alterations it can be quicker. If you have an emergency let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you!
